If you wish to maximize your return on time and money invested into playing World of Tanks, you need to purchase World of Tanks Tips & Tricks by Glen Myers. Bonds are the ultimate currency in World of Tanks, even more so than gold or even cold hard cash. You can only earn bonds while playing certain game formats such as Ranked Battles. You can also earn bonds by completing Standard Daily Missions (sometimes) and Premium Daily Missions (every day). You can also earn bonds while playing in tier X vehicles. The amount of bonds you can earn per week, per tank is limited to 100. If you view your tier X vehicles in your garage, you’ll see a small number listed above each tier X tank. That number represents how many bonds you’ve earned so far during the current week. Once it hits 100, you can no longer earn bonds until the limit is reset at the end of the week.

 

Bonds can be used to purchase specialized equipment for your tanks as well as directives that improve tank stats or crew stats. Equipment is permanent and can be moved to other tanks if you choose to at an additional cost. Directives are consumed after each battle, making them quite expensive and beyond the reach of average players. Essentially, bond equipment and bond directives improve your tank by marginal amounts. Some of the equipment can be quite expensive (5,000 or more bonds) but if you ask a great player if it’s worth buying this type of equipment or not, you’ll hear a resounding YES, IT’S WORTH IT!

 

You can also purchase vehicles with bonds. There isn’t a large variety of vehicles to choose from, and most of them are vehicles that were removed from the normal tech tree at some point during the game’s development.

 

Is it worth it to purchase tanks with bonds? For some tanks, yes. I go over the benefit of bond-purchased tanks in my book, World of Tanks – Tips and Tricks.
