Premium tanks and tanks who have earned Elite status by researching all available modules (and any tanks attached to it via the tech tree) will earn Elite Experience. Note: while researching all modules and next-level tanks is required, it is not required to actually purchase the module or the next-level tank. Researching is all that is required. There’s only one use for Elite Experience and that is to convert it to Free Experience through the use of Gold.

To avoid collecting Elite Experience, players can select the “Accelerate Crew Training” box on any Elite status tank. As long as that box is checked, Elite Experience will automatically be given to the crew members instead of accumulating.

Elite experience is yet another way for you to spend gold in WOT. I used to participate in this. I would play my favorite tanks with extremely well-trained crews and bank all of their Elite experience until I had enough of it to convert and use to purchase a new tank and its subsequent modules. I no longer do that. In fact, I almost never convert Elite experience except on very rare occasions (read the section on Converting Experience to learn more).

If you don’t plan on converting Elite experience, it’s useless to accumulate. You should check the “Accelerate Crew Training” box as soon as your tank acquires Elite status. Otherwise, that form of experience will sit in your account and do nothing good for you or for your account.
