World of Tanks - Tips and Tricks
Now in paperback! |
I’ve been playing this game for many years. I’m on my third account.
Why did I give up my first two accounts? I experienced several family tragedies that really made me rethink my life and how I was spending my time each day. Both times, I gave my WOT accounts away to friends, thinking I would not return to the game, but yet I am still playing. However, I am a much different player these days. Life events take precedence over the game at all times. If I get a phone call in the middle of a game, I will go AFK to answer the call and walk away from the computer. I still enjoy WOT, to be sure, but it’s a distant 20th (or lower) on my list of life priorities. Family, friends, work, my dog, and even washing my car and folding laundry are easily more important these days than firing up a game of WOT.
I play the horses and engage in day trading. If you want to play a tough game in the real world that can have catastrophic consequences from bad decisions, try gambling, or buying and selling stocks and futures. You need to be mentally sharp at all times or you’ll get eaten alive in those arenas. It’s estimated less than 1% of horse players can turn a profit from betting the ponies. I’m part of that 1%.
To survive in those cut throat financial atmospheres, one must be able to discern glitches, discrepancies, trends and all manner of nuances otherwise ignored by the general public. That’s where I thrive. The quagmire. And because of that skill set, I can’t help but analyze every aspect of my life in the same manner, and that includes playing World of Tanks.
I’ve compiled my observations on the game and written a book titled World of Tanks Tips and Tricks. You can buy a digital version or purchase a paperback (both available on Amazon). When I see something in the game worth analyzing, I’ll write about it. I do this throughout the year. Then, in the beginning of year (usually mid or late January), I’ll update the book with my new perspectives I wrote throughout the previous year.
This type of writing isn’t unique to WOT. I do this with most activities I participate in. I can’t help it. I want to maximize my return of time and investment in all my endeavors, and the only way to do that is to keep excellent notes and self-reflect every now and again. If I can’t keep improving on a particular subject, such as learning a new language or playing a video game or increasing my profit on the futures market during the summer months, then I’ll move on to a different subject. No matter what you do in life, there is always room for improvement. Stagnation is death.
Whether you decide to read my WOT perspectives or not, I wish you the best in all your efforts, both in the virtual world of PC gaming and the real world where your daily decisions have a direct impact on your life and those closest to you.
